Abhi Na Jao Chod Kar

"Abhi na jao chod kar ke dil abhi bhara nahin"

And yet he did go away...on that fateful day dated 31st July, 1980 the world lost it's greatest singer ever. Leaving behind a legacy of humility and gentleness Md. Rafi passed away to other shores but definitely not oblivion. He left behind a body of work which is as gloriously mesmerizing as it is deliciously varied. There is not a known genre of songs in Indian cinema which Rafi did not perfect...be it the trademark soft romanticos to the high octane dance numbers, the melancholic sad tunes to the pulsating qawwalis, the traditional ghazals and bhajans to the comic styled songs designed for laughs...he did it all and how!!!

"Ek Lau Is Tarah"

Gardishon mein rehti...Behti guzarti
Zindagiyaan hain kitni
In mein se ek hai...Teri meri agni
Koi ek jaisi apni
Par khuda khair kar...Aisa anjaam kisi rooh ko
Na de kabhi yahan

Ghuncha muskurata ek...Waqt se pehle

Kyun chod chala...Tera ye jahan

Ek lau is tarah kyun bujhi mere maula

Ek lau zindagi ki maula

Silken Salute

Imagine a scenario when you, after having been fed on a sumptuous course of delicious delicacies on a regular basis, are then suddenly denied the privilege of those same delectable dishes...suddenly you get those dishes only as a rare occurrence and the really frustrating part being that it's not coz you don't have the means to access those dishes rather they have just been stopped being made as a regularity.

That has been the exact same feeling that every Sonu Nigam fan has been put through in the past two years. After the appetite being whetted beyond imagination during the course of a decade of soulful singing, there was suddenly a lull...and the desperate us, such badly addicted that we have been to his lilting voice, just didn't know where to put our ears. Of course, his mastery over his craft is such that hadly any blame can be put to us poor souls for getting hooked on in such massive proportions.

Jaane Na Kahan Woh Duniya Hai...

Kahin To...Kahin To
Hogi Woh
Duniya Jahan Tu Mere Saath Hai
Jahan Main...Jahan Tu
Aur Jahan
Bas Tere Mere Jazbaat Hai

Hogi Jahan Saba Teri
Palkon Ki Kirnon Mein
Lori Jahan Chand Ki
Sune Teri Baahon Mein

Jaane Na Kahan Woh Duniya Hai
Jaane Na Woh Hai Bhi Ya Nahin
Jahan Meri Zindagi Mujhse
Itni Khafa Nahin

Saansein Kho Gayi Hain Kiski Aahon Mein
Main Kho Gayi Hun Jaane Kiski Baahon Mein
Manzilon Se Raahein Dhundte Chali
Aur Kho Gayi Hai Manzil Kahin Raahon Mein

Kahin To...Kahin To
Hai Nasha
Teri Meri Har Mulaqat Mein
Honton Se Honton Ko
Chumte
O Rehte Hain Hum Har Baat Pe

Kehti Hai Fiza Jahan
Teri Zameen Aasmaan
Kahan Hai Tu
Meri Hansi
Meri Khushi Meri Jaan

Jaane Na Kahan Woh Duniya Hai
Jaane Na Woh Hai Bhi Ya Nahin
Jahan Meri Zindagi Mujhse
Itni Khafa Nahin

Somewhere out there, there must be a world where we can be together, a world where there are no conditions on love, a world which is inhabited by just pure unconditional love, a world inhabited by just "us" and our unbridled emotions.
I don't know where such a world is.In fact, i'm not even sure whether it exists.Maybe it just exists in our dreams, maybe it's just a figment of my imagination which cannot bear a world without us together or maybe its pure delusional of me to think of such a place.I dont know any of these. All i know is that i am willing to find it,I am willing to scourge the sky and land, between and beneath, all through...only if you are just beside me.
This is a song of hope...hope of finding a world sans hate and anger, a world where there exists only love and peace.

N.B:- This is a song from the movie "JAANE TU YA JAANE NA". If u have not yet listened to it, then i urge you to do so @ the very earliest.
